Christmas Committee
The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority (UDBDA) Christmas Committee coordinates the planning and organization of Christmas in the Square, Uniontown’s signature holiday celebration. Each year, the committee brings together volunteers, businesses, organizations, sponsors, and community partners to create a festive downtown experience for residents and visitors alike. The event typically features a holiday parade, tree lighting ceremony, live entertainment, visits with Santa, local vendors, children’s activities, and festive decorations throughout downtown.
Planning begins each July with “Christmas in July,” when committee members gather to review the previous year’s event, develop new ideas, organize subcommittees, coordinate sponsorships, and begin preparing for the holiday season. Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome to participate, whether assisting with decorations, event logistics, entertainment, vendor coordination, the parade, or day-of-event activities.
Christmas in the Square has become a cherished community tradition that celebrates the spirit of the season while supporting downtown businesses and showcasing Uniontown as a vibrant destination to live, work, shop, and celebrate.

Join the Christmas Committee
The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority (UDBDA) Christmas Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating Christmas in the Square, Uniontown’s annual holiday celebration. The committee works throughout the year to organize entertainment, the holiday parade, sponsorships, decorations, vendors, marketing, fundraising, and event logistics to create a memorable experience for our community.
Planning begins each July with our annual Christmas in July kickoff meeting, where committee members review the previous year’s event, establish goals, organize subcommittees, and begin preparing for the upcoming holiday season.
Become a Committee Member
Committee members play an active role in planning the event from start to finish. Members are encouraged to attend planning meetings, serve on subcommittees, help make decisions, coordinate specific event elements, and assist with organizing sponsors, volunteers, and activities throughout the planning process. This role is ideal for individuals who want to help shape the vision and success of Christmas in the Square.
Volunteer for the Event
Not everyone has time to attend meetings—and that’s okay! Event volunteers provide invaluable support before, during, and after Christmas in the Square. Volunteers may help decorate downtown, assist with event setup and teardown, direct vendors, help with children’s activities, support the parade, provide information to visitors, or lend a hand wherever needed during the celebration. Volunteers can choose opportunities that fit their availability without making a year-round commitment.
Whether you choose to serve as a committee member or volunteer for the event, your time and talents help make Christmas in the Square a tradition that brings our community together each holiday season. We welcome individuals, businesses, civic organizations, churches, and community groups to join us in making Uniontown shine during the most wonderful time of the year.
